Long- Term Financial Planning Series WHERE IS M Y MONE Y ? with Frontier College Students will learn where their money can go! They will learn the concepts of spending, saving, donating, and investing, and doing so wisely. They will see the relationship between the four categories and apply these concepts in their personal life. This is an interactive and multi-media session. THE FIN A NCE OF A DULTING: MONTHLY BUDGETING with Frontier College Some expenses come with adulting! In this session, students will create, track, and adjust a monthly budget, given certain scenarios. They will also learn how to achieve a longer-term financial goal by spending wisely and saving. Your students will be introduced to finances including various income, bills, basic needs, and other living expenses. Part two can be organized to introduce more complex financial choices as well as borrowing and investment options. ARTISAN CR AF TS - HOW TO CRE ATE YOUR OWN BUSINESS with Dori Hopko Have you ever been asked to make some of your art, cras, or homemade items for friends? Have you thought about whether or not you can earn an income from something you love to do? Dori Hopko, a sewing store owner from Sioux Lookout will share her experiences in creating a business from her love of sewing. Dori will discuss how to promote your product, participate in cra shows, pricing your goods and how to turn a profit. E A RNING INCOME with Chartered Professional Accountants Canada Students will connect to a professional from the Canadian Chartered Accountants of Canada to understand the concept of earning income and explore the challenges and options for doing so. Classes will be introduced to working to earn an income and how to plan for income earned. Students will also understand how skills and abilities are related to careers.
