Technical Requirements for Content Providers
Delivering your session requires a computer with a high-speed Internet connection (1 Mbps or
above) and the free Cisco WebEx soware. The school lead you work with will be able to help
arrange a test prior to delivering your first session. Our team will follow up with you to determine
and arrange the best method for your connection.
Materials for Classrooms
To ensure that students have access to a highly interactive hands-on experience, you may want to
consider what materials would be helpful to have available as part of the session. In most cases, it
is best to limit expectations as schools do not necessarily have access to a wide range of supplies
or other tools. If physical materials are needed to support your session, we have a small budget to
assist with facilitating some requests related to supplies. Please speak with the school coordinator
about your request, which may require 3-4 weeks for shipping prior to the session. There are oen
shipping delays so even if supplies are ordered, there is no guarantee that it will reach the school in
time. If you have interaction ideas that might rely on other technologies and digital devices, please
note that many schools do not have access to high-speed internet outside of the Telepresence unit.
Interdisciplinary Approach
Supporting interdisciplinary learning and helping students navigate their understanding of their
own identity in relation to their community and the world can be strengthened by making linkages
between Western Worldviews and Indigenous Worldviews . We aim to provide experiences that
1
balance both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous perspectives across a broad range of curriculum
areas, with an approach that is respectful of each distinct community that we are partnering with.
