LESSON 3: HOW TO CREATE A DEMO REEL Your demo reel helps you show off your skills to talent agents, pro- ducers or casting houses. You can create a great demo reel even if you don't have existing footage of yourself. At that point, you're going to be making a self-tape. Here's how to create your demo reel: TRY TO AVOID USING ONLY COMEDIC SCENES OR ONLY DRAMATIC SCENES. MIX IT UP! Find yourself a couple of good contrasting scenes online. The contrast will show your range as an actor. Avoid scenes with the same tone or that promote you in the same way as an actor. Show all your sides so people know how versatile you can be. THIS GOES FOR TYPES OF CHRACTER AS WELL Go to websites that offer free scripts to find scenes for your demo reel. Ask actor friends which scenes they think you would be great in. PARTNER UP Get yourself a reader and practice until it's camera ready. Repeat the process for your next scene. GET READY TO CONNECT.
