You're not the center of the universe. People might treat you like it, but be humble, have humility, just be a kind person." Things Don't Just End At The Wrap Of Production Be aware that there are things that will generally come after production and post-produc- tion. You still have ADR, which is where you go and rerecord lines that may have been compromised by background noise on set. Be prepared Planning for your financial future and present is something that needs to happen for you to thrive. "The acting industry isn't always super fruitful. Make sure that you have a backup plan or a side hustle that you make money with or something that sustains your life because that's really important. You're not going to get every audition. You're not going to get every role. Sometimes things are quiet for a long, long time. Know what you can do and what you want to do outside of the industry and know that you need something to support yourself in the time being." Keep An Open Mind Where you start in the film industry isn't necessarily where you will end up. "When I got into the film and television industry, I thought I was only going to be an actor. I only wanted to act. I didn't think there was any path outside of that, like what skills from acting can you apply to other jobs? But this experience in film and television you can extend outside of your roles. If you want to do writing, if you want to do directing, if you want to do producing, there's all these different things." If you decide to do something different, you wouldn't be the first actor to decide that and you won't be the last! "You can move within the industry and you can kind of pursue different career paths if acting doesn't feel right for you, or if you need a different creative outlet. There's a lot of very versatile and multi talented actors out there who are also directors, who are also producers, who maybe started off as actors and went into directing or who wanted to direct and then went into acting. There's a lot of room for movement within this industry." You have a unique perspective to be able to see what opportunities are available to you and expand your horizons.
