A N N A L A M B E 150 Routine The other piece that's important for self care is establishing a routine. Being able to disconnect from the roles you play at the end of the day is so important. Plan what you want to do at the end of the day so that you're doing something just for you, whether that's cooking, exercise or something else you enjoy. Mental Health "Another really important part of self care in the film and television industry is frequently and consistently checking in with yourself, checking in with your mental health, checking in with your confidence, checking in with your self esteem, because in this industry, it can be really tough." Rejection, disappointment and feeling relentless scrutiny of physical appearance can be tough. Having a platform can come with a lot of pressure. Ask yourself: • Where are you at mentally? • Are you really, really struggling? • Are you in a pretty good place? • Do you think you could be doing better so that you can address that immediately? Make sure to address things that are impacting your self-confidence. Body Image Do you feel like you're putting a lot of pressure on yourself to look a certain way? "Your body takes care of you. If you're not happy with where your body's at right now, because you don't feel good, then, you know, do what makes you feel good. But if you are having really low confidence or self esteem, just because you feel like you're not skinny enough, you're not good looking enough. That's not a good place to be in." There's making choices that support your wellness and there's making choices for unhealthy reasons due to pressure and other people's goals for your body. "It's perfectly okay to want to change how you look or how you feel, because it's not where you feel your best, but once you start wanting to change how you look, because you're like, 'Oh, I don't like the way I look on camera' or 'I feel like I'm not skinny enough to be getting these roles.' Then you need to address that. That's a really unhealthy view of yourself and that can lead to further damage down the road."
