A N N A L A M B E 148 "You want to make sure that the clothes that you're wearing are flattering, that they fit the character, that they look good on camera and that they make you look and feel good in your performance. Same goes with hair." Be Presentable Consult your audition documentation for any specific instructions about hair, makeup or wardrobe. Think about: • How are you going to dress? • How are you going to do your makeup? • How are you going to do your hair? Putting It All Together "Once you step in front of that camera, just have fun, show all that analysis and all that hard work that you put on behind the scenes, show that in front of the camera...do your audition with passion and with confidence and you'll feel proud of the work that you do... All those extra steps that you take, all those extra notes that you take, they are noticeable and people see it." The extra effort is worth it, so do your homework and feel good about what you're bring- ing to the table. Give Yourself Some Grace "I know sometimes when we're doing auditions, sometimes we can get really intense and we mess up one thing when an audition is going really well and then we get super hard on ourselves. That doesn't help anyone." Don't be too hard on yourself. If you're freaking out, you're probably also upsetting your reader. You can record as many times as you need to for a self-tape. Be gentle with yourself and try to enjoy the process. Anna's Pep Talk: "I believe in you. And I think that if you take all these extra steps you will have a great audition and you will be remembered by the casting director or anybody who saw your audition video." Do you feel ready for the audition now?
