Students scramble in with permissions slips in hand, eager
to explore the world beyond their classroom. It's field
trip day. But what happens when your classroom is in a
remote Indigenous community? With Connected North,
your permission slip takes you further than ever before.
Connected North's immersive and interactive educational
experiences happen through high definition, two-way
video technology. In 2019, the program reached 43
schools serving over 10,000 Indigenous students, across
the territories and northern communities in British
Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.
" Being in a remote community,
things like field trips to
museums, zoos, and bringing
in experts are things we often
are not able to do. Connected
North helps us to bring these
experiences and experts to
our students with little work
required on our part."
