This program was meant to teach young creatives new skills around how they can use their mobile devices to create media pieces to add to the creative portfolio for future career opportunities. In response to the COVID 19 pandemic, the Mile End team took measures to restructure the delivery of their curriculum. The team reached out to the participants who had signed up for the program to learn more about what they would like to learn about and their learning styles. This allowed the team to consider all the factors needed to design a virtual program that was inviting for young people to attend during a time where everything around them was so uncertain. Keeping the sessions to 90 minutes in length and providing various interactive exercises and activities helped support the ongoing engagement of the participants. Additionally, the Mile End team reached out to prominent community leaders to be a part of the program as guest speakers and teaching mentors to inspire the young creatives with their media pieces.
