E M B R A C I N G V I R T U A L L E A R N I N G 46 Media Arts Center San Diego shortened their usual four hour, in-person sessions to 90 minutes each for online delivery in response to the COVID 19 pandemic. Their curriculum was redesigned as online bootcamps which focused more on independent learning of a topic or a technical skill. Each week's bootcamp covered a different topic such as: directing the actor, audio editing, colour correction, etc. These bootcamps were designed and delivered to introduce the participant to a skill, followed by allowing participants to engage in different exercises to put theory into practice. To better continue virtually supporting youth with their creative journey, a new program was developed in addition to these offered bootcamps. This advanced workshop series consisted of 120 minute long sessions where participants worked on developing and customizing their online portfolios for jobs and school applications.
