In response to the COVID 19
pandemic, the SAY Sí team decided to
incorporate the project Quaranteen
Time Capsule as a part of their regular
programming. The purpose of this
time capsule is to allow participants
the opportunity to create a media
piece, with the medium of their choice,
that captures their experiences of all
the elements of their daily lives during
this unique time in history.
This project allowed the SAY Sí team
to continue engaging with their wider
community in a new virtual setting,
while young creatives continued to
develop their media making skills.
The young creatives met virtually twice
a week for live sessions that ranged
from 60 to 90 minutes for online
workshops and skill development on
a medium of their choice, utilizing
breakout rooms for various activities.
In addition to these live sessions,
participants were invited to attend
special talks and online performances
of other young creatives. Through all
of the programs offered to their young
creatives, a collection of artwork was
curated for the time capsule.
The artwork submitted consisted of:
visual arts pieces utilizing a variety of
techniques, comics, photography, digital
art, pixel art, sketching, podcasts series,
films, interactive fiction, machinima and
performing art productions.
