Explore how light and sound behave through engaging demonstrations on pitch, frequency, reflection, absorption, and vibration. Students will participate in a simple experiment using found materials to investigate the properties of light and sound. MEET THE SM A LL FARM ANIM ALS with Canada Agriculture and Food Museum Tour the barn through two-way video to meet the sheep, goats, rabbits, and chickens. Students also meet the not-so-small pigs! Discover fun facts about these animals along the way. LIFEC YCLE OF A PACIFIC SA LMON with Pacific Salmon Foundation Learn about the life and habitats of a Pacific Salmon. A marine biologist will take you on a virtual tour of the journey salmon make from tiny eggs in the river to big adults out in the ocean. Some students will choose a life stage and create an illustrated fact card that will complete the phrase, "Did you know...". Other students will choose one of the salmon habitats and draw it, labelling the important features. In groups, students will then work together to complete the salmon life cycle by placing their fact cards in their matching habitats. LIFE IN THE SOIL with Canada Agriculture and Food Museum We oen forget that the ground is teeming with life. In this session, students will discover the creatures hiding underground. During the program, students observe the characteristics of earthworms, study their life cycle, and discover how worms contribute to healthy soils.
