55 Dance OTHER SESSION IDE A S: • Basic Steps to Fancy Dancing with Linsay Willier • Hip Hop Dance with Boogaloo Dance • Jazz Dance with Boogaloo Dance MEDIE VA L MUSIC A ND DA NCE with Sheffield Museum Students will learn from a "first-person" peasant character about the music and dance that was popular amongst the medieval peasantry. The fiddle, bagpipes, whistle, drum, mouth harp, and hurdy-gurdy are demonstrated and discussed. The students may learn a medieval song in advance and sing along with the peasant, and the students will learn some simple dances from medieval times, danced to live music. MUSIC A L THE ATRE/DR A M A with Boogaloo Dance Academy Imagine yourself standing in front of an audience of one thousand people, fearlessly showing them what you're made of. Whether speaking to an audience of one thousand or of one, drama acting students at Boogaloo Academy learn to express themselves with confidence, clarity and honesty. Using games, exercises and scene work, students will explore new skills in movement, speech, improvisation and characterization. Above all else, they will learn to explore their own creativity, and to have fun expressing it. HIP HOP GR A SSDA NCE FUSION with Tristan Marshall Tristan will lead the students through the evolution of Hip Hop dance and fusion in Indigenous culture. This fun and active session will get the students moving and dancing to grassdancing and hip hop while learning about different hip hop and Indigenous artists. HIP HOP DA NCE with Dana Khan Dana is a dance teacher who infuses Indigenous dance and music into her amazing choreography. Dana will work with a class over a 4-session period to create and perform a hip hop dance.
