100 # R I S I N G Y O U T H C O M M U N I T Y I M P A C T
Our #RisingYouth know how to
paint the town… literally! This
beautiful community project led
by Josh Creighton in Halifax, Nova
Scotia aimed to slow traffic down,
to express community identity,
and to create a safe and enjoyable
place for all pedestrians. Best
of all, this intersection painting
was designed and painted by the
local community themselves!
The Creighton Street painting
has since become an important
attraction for children and
families who walk in this
neighbourhood. Children
see themselves and their
community in this painting,
which has also contributed
to the sense of pride in their
community and local history.
" Seeing long-time community
residents take ownership in
something that represents
them and the history of
this vibrant community
was the biggest success
of this project!"
