Savannah Lantz's Lipstick
Project was a photoshoot
celebrating Indigenous beauty
and diversity in the north.
Her goal was to dismantle
the negative stereotypes
that exist about northern
communities and provide a
safe space for individuals who
do not conform to traditional
Western beauty standards.
Taking place during Pride, the
photoshoot was an all-ages
event and completely free for all.
Savannah intentionally planned
her event in this way to make
it accessible to a diverse range
of people in her community.
Participants were given lipstick,
their Polaroid photo, and a
celebration of their beauty!
" The biggest success to
me was being visible and
queer in a positive way.
We had participants
of all backgrounds and
overall, that was the true
success of the project."
