Cases of sexual assault and
violence have been grabbing
media headlines over the last
few years. #RisingYouth grantee
Alexia Oman's Project Consent
was developed as a way to raise
public awareness around sexual
consent to combat this issue.
Through a summer campaign
at various music festivals in
the Yukon, Alexia and her team
set up a tent inviting festival-
goers to discuss this issue in
various interactive ways.
The grant specifically funded the
presence of the consent team
at the Dawson Music Festival
who successfully engaged in
critical discussions around
sexual consent with nearly 300
people, more than a third of
whom were under 30 years old.
