In a space that is dominated by men, FAB aims to create a safe and nurturing environment where women can try something they may never have tried in existing spaces. The drop-in skate sessions took place on Wednesday evenings from 6-9 p.m., welcoming all skill levels and all ages. Using her grant, Alejandra provided extra skateboards and safety gear for people to borrow. It was important to make the sport as accessible as possible for those who may not have the means to purchase such equipment. " Our members consider the young girls who show up, excited to learn and feeling confident, as our biggest success. FAB can change lives, and already has begun to do just that."
