With the help of guest speakers who shared their lived experiences, Daniel and his team were able to build a network of youth leaders who empower their communities to become active advocates of mental health on the island. Many of the workshop sessions and panel discussions were led by community leaders and health professionals, but also drew on the rich experiences of youth themselves. Daniel's goal was to engage youth on critical discussions around mental health while also sharing the resources and support systems available. " As an international student, mental health is unfamiliar territory for me and being able to advocate for my friends who have experienced and dealt with mental health issues was gratifying. The number of young adults and youth leaders that encouraged and supported our project was motivating."
