Recognizing this, #RisingYouth grantee Jordan Thomas organized a traditional youth day for boys aged 10 to 17 in his community. He invited elders to lead conversations on traditional teachings and engaged youth in a smudging ceremony. He also invited Indigenous women working at the Lennox Island Cultural Centre to show the boys how to make traditional hand drums! " Just that we got a group of male youth together to build and learn our cultural traditions was a massive success!"
