#RisingYouth grantee Nite Elijah
Noah-Turner organized an elders'
tea celebration alongside other
youth in his community to show
appreciation for their presence,
wisdom, and contributions. It
was a powerful opportunity for
youth to learn from an older
generation while having fun at the
same time. Nite set up activities
like dancing, dice games, and
storytelling to engage everyone
in attendance. He even served
food like seal, caribou, fish,
and bannock for all to enjoy!
" The thing I liked the most
about my project is that the
elders were very welcoming
and were happy that a group
of kids were there with them
to connect with each other."
