Tanya Sinisalo organized a
grandparents' tea celebration
to honour the accomplishments
of grandparents within the
Centennial neighbourhood
in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The
gathering began with a poem
about grandparents followed
by entertainment by the local
school children who performed
a song and dance routine.
Tanya also invited drummers to
perform for the grandparents.
But that's not all! There was
also a buffet complete with
chicken skewers, pancit, mixed
vegetables, beef samosas,
and an assortment of pies
including apple, blueberry,
and lemon. The grandparents
were truly celebrated by all
those in the community!
" The tea was successful at
bringing these grandparents
together and gave them
the chance to connect with
other grandparents in our
community. One guest
mentioned that they even
made three new friends!"
