Talk about innovation!
#RisingYouth grantee Fawzan
Hussain created 3D assistive
technology models to help
people with disabilities. Some
of these models include simple
devices such as a shopping bag
holder, a dyslexia bar reader,
palm pen holder, and even a
mouth-controlled input device
to operate a touch screen.
Fawzan then shared his models
with the Neil Squire Society, a
Canadian national not-for-profit
organization that empowers
Canadians with disabilities
through employment, digital
literacy, and innovation.
Working together, Fawzan and
the Neil Squire Society printed
these models to share with
people with disabilities.
All the 3D model files are
also available for anyone
to use for free at www.
makersmakingchange.com/
open-source-repository.
" The biggest success I
achieved through this
project was the fact that the
149 3D-prints will empower
people with disabilities to
achieve independence!"
