156 # R I S I N G Y O U T H C O M M U N I T Y I M P A C T The Great Youth Gathering on Mental Health is a project by and for young people who have lived experiences in mental health. #RisingYouth grantee Emmanuelle Saulnier-Leclerc used her grant to put together a two-day event with the goal of bringing together youth between the ages of 16 to 35 across Quebec to create community amongst those experiencing mental health issues. By bringing together young Quebecers from all walks of life in participatory workshops of various forms, the event was a nuanced and inclusive representation of diverse experiences, as well as shared realities, needs, and challenges. According to event evaluations, the vast majority (83%) of participants reported feeling a greater sense of belonging as a result of the gathering. A true success! " We had one activity at the end of the day where participants were invited to share what they learned throughout the day. The comments were incredibly positive with folks saying they felt a sense of belonging and understanding. I think we achieved our goals with this project."
