Kevin recited several of his original spoken word poems. Students were encouraged to submit their poetry to a collaborative poetry publication. R ICK Y- LE E W AT T S - I N DIG E N OUS RO LE M O D E L Indigenous role model Ricky-Lee Watts shared his journey of growing up in British Columbia and an Indigenous Youth. His message was well received, encouraging students to develop self advocacy skills, stay in school and immerse themselves in their communities. V I C TO R I A LI N K L ATE R M E M O R I A L SCH O O L | N O RTH S PI R IT L A K E , O N The school completed 11 sessions for students from Kindergarten to Grade 8, including: FLOATI N G FOO D A N D PU FF Y FACES - S PACE CE NTE R H OUS TO N Students took a virtual field trip to the museum at space center in Houston to learn about the living conditions of the International Space Station and how astronauts deal with everyday activities that we deal with on earth, like brushing our teeth, bathing and even using the washroom. S TRUC TU R ES A N D M ECH A N IS MS - O NTA R I O S CI E N CE CE NTR E Students learned about the laws of physics and how we utilize that knowledge to build and maximize the strength and integrity of materials used to build structures and supporting mechanisms.
