#Decarbonize:#Decolonize
GLOBAL YOUTH WHITEPAPER
From November 26 to December 8, 18 global lead students, from 15 worldwide schools, co-wrote a
paper addressing climate change through a decolonial lens. Each student acted as a representative of
their region and social identity, as they discussed what the definitions of the terms "Indigenous,"
"equity," "decolonize," and "decarbonize'' meant to them. In their words, "Climate change is happening
everywhere and elements of colonization are still present in modern society; limiting Indigenous voices.
We have recognized and put these points at the forefront, coming together to take initiative and
prioritize the mindsets of our policymakers, leaders and older generations." Below is a link to the final
whitepaper they created and presented at COP24.

As a part of their time in Poland, students also presented at Conference of Youth (COY 14), and at a
UNESCO ASPNet National School convention on climate change.
