Youth Knowledge and Experience of Climate Change
THE FOLLOWING ANALYSIS E XPLORES TE AM MEMBERS' CLIMATE CHANGE K NOWLEDGE
AND E XPERIENCES THROUGHOUT THE IPCC PROJECT ALONG THREE MAIN SECTIONS: WHAT
WAS BEFORE, WHAT WAS DURING, AND WHAT HAS RESULTED. THE ANALYSIS BELOW IS
STRUCTURED ROUGHLY TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THAT WERE ASK ED DIRECTLY IN THE
INTERVIE WS (SEE INTERVIEW GUIDE, APPENDIX 1).
IT IS IMPORTANT TO K EEP IN MIND THAT THE MAJORIT Y OF TE AM MEMBERS WERE
ALRE ADY ENVIRONMENTALLY INCLINED, INVOLVED WITH ENVIRONMENTAL CLUBS AND
CL ASSES WITHIN THEIR SCHOOLS, AND SUFFICIENTLY PASSIONATE ABOUT THE TOPIC
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE IPCC PROJECT. THUS, THESE YOUTH ARE NOT REPRESENTATIVE
OF YOUTH GLOBALLY, IN THEIR HOME COUNTRIES, OR E VEN THEIR SCHOOLS. R ATHER,
THIS REPORT E XPRESSES THE CLIMATE CHANGE E XPERIENCES AND PERSPECTIVES OF A
PARTICUL ARLY ENGAGED GROUP OF URBAN YOUTH.
