The Connected North team is pleased to be able to provide "Premium Sessions" for the 2018-2019 school year. Premium sessions are special opportunities created by organizations and individuals to bring unique opportunities to our Connected North schools. The following list are sessions that are available throughout the year. Premium Sessions COOKING WITH THE WOLFMAN with David Wolfman Chef David Wolfman is a celebrity Chef (Cooking With the Wolfman), author and teacher. David is a member of the Xaxli'p First Nation, is an internationally recognized expert in wild game and traditional Indigenous cuisine. He has been a culinary arts professor at George Brown College in Toronto since 1994 and is also executive producer and host of a popular APTN program, Cooking with the Wolfman. David will prepare a customized Connected North session to teach classes how to prepare and cook a variety of dishes. Materials can be sent to the school in order for the students to be able to prepare the food along with David or aer the session. E ARLY SOCIETIES AND PREHISTORIC BIODIVERSIT Y with The Royal Ontario Museum Early Societies: Offered on November 20, 2018 and February 25, 2019 only, 11:00-11:45 am EST. Learn about early societies by examining authentic objects from the ROM's collections. With objects from as far back as 2000 to 5000 years ago, we can better understand how people from ancient times addressed their foundations such as government, food supply, social organization, family structures, beliefs, and art. This virtual visit will focus on objects from the museum's Ancient Egypt and China collections. Prehistoric Biodiversity: Offered on November 19, 2018 and February 22, 2019 only, 11:00-11:45 am EST. Discover the deep history of life on Earth through the ROM's world-class collections, close observation, and inquiry. Investigate fossils from various periods in Earth's past to learn about the amazing diversity of life on our planet. From sea creatures to mammoths, mastodons, and dinosaurs – we've got it all! THE GLOBE- LONDON, U.K . with Tour of the Globe Theatre Shakespeare's Globe is committed to sharing its work with classrooms around the globe, through interactive workshops. For the first time, Shakespeare's Globe is conducting two-way live streaming from the Globe stage. We are proud to be developing this work with Canadian schools this year, thanks to our Digital Outreach programme with Connected North. These sessions can be tailored for any play for any age range and learning levels. The Globe will be offering these multi school sessions on specific dates during the fall, winter and spring terms. The Connected North school coordinators will inform schools regarding dates and times.
