Mathematics FR AC TION INTER AC TIONS with Ann Arbor Hands on Museum It's the fraction game show! Students will find out how much they know about fractions as they work together to survive three rounds while constructing, observing, and dancing to solve math problems. Fractions can be fun! *Materials required. BUDGETING AND FINANCIAL LITER AC Y with Scotiabank Budgeting and Financial Literacy are skills integral in learning to become independent and self-sufficient citizens. During this session, students will work with a professional from Scotiabank to learn why setting short term, medium-term and long-term goals are important. Students will create individual goals and develop strategies on how to reach their financial goals by developing a budget. Students will also be introduced to financial concepts such as credit, saving strategies, investments, interest and credit ratings. This session can be customized to the needs and interests of each individual classroom. MAKING IT COUNT with Frontier College Make every moment count when developing the minds of our young mathematicians. You don't need a pencil to do math, all you need is a willingness to discover new ways to look at numbers. Whether it be through skip counting, representation or comparison, learn how to use movement to manipulate numbers and operations. Students will develop confidence in their new skills, forming positive attitudes towards math, resulting in lifelong learners. Geared for Grades 1-3. BAT TER UP BA SEBALL with Baseball Hall of Fame This thematic unit teaches fundamental concepts that connect the calculator and the clubhouse while learning, using and interpreting the statistics of famous ballplayers. Computation is the key in determining batting averages and slugging percentages.
