The Future Pathways program involves building a relationship between post-secondary students and high school students in the Connected North network. With support from the RBC Foundation, Future Pathways has hired 10 post-secondary students across Canada from 7 different institutions: University of Alberta, Vancouver Island University, Algonquin College, Carleton University, McGill University, University of Winnipeg, and University of Saskatchewan. These Indigenous Student Leaders will help to create and build a relationship between the Connected North students, the institutions, and the Indigenous spaces on campus. The Indigenous Student Leaders will run a variety of video sessions based off their experiences at the school. It is our hope that by having these relationships in place before the students attend these post-secondary institutions, they will be able to seamlessly transition into these institutions because of the connections they've made through the Future Pathways program. F U T U R E P A T H W A Y S VIRTUAL C AMPUS TOURS Working with our Student Advisors and institutional leads, students will be able to participate in a live "Virtual Tour" around the campus, helping them discover the physical attributes of the institution and surrounding community, meet key individuals, and explore their areas of interest. We will also highlight dedicated cultural programs and services, such as the Mamidosewin Centre at Algonquin College. These tours can be delivered by the advisors on their smartphones, or using more sophisticated video equipment if available on campus.
