Commit to 4 sessions over the school year and tackle an issue your students are interested in. The breakdown for the 4 sessions is as follows: • First Session: Breakdown of 4 sessions and discuss the issue you'd like the mock trial to be about. • Second Session: Discussion and research on the chosen topic. • Third Session: Learn how to build an argument and build your case. • Fourth Session: The Mock trial day. At McGill University, the Faculty of Law's high school outreach program has been renamed to L.E.X. (Law – Éducation – Connexion) to better reflect its bilingual nature and priorities. These sessions will give law students and high school students the chance to meet, interact and learn from each other. This initiative stems from our concern about Quebec's alarming high school dropout rates and about the fact that many underprivileged kids, as well as children of immigrants and visible minorities in Montreal, are under- represented in post-secondary and legal education. The L.E.X. Program reflects our view that the privileges enjoyed by the Faculty of Law and its students also bring responsibilities. The L.E.X. Program is excited to be offering programming through the Connected North network to schools across Canada.
