Social Studies THE HOLOC AUST: ONE TEEN'S STORY OF PERSECUTION AND SURVIVAL with WWII Museum Hear personal testimony from Eva Schloss, stepsister of Anne Frank and survivor of Auschwitz. Through video recorded selections of Eva's story from the Museum's oral history collection, students will encounter the physical and emotional ordeal of going into hiding, being captured by the SS and sent to the largest concentration camp in the Third Reich. Students will understand the necessity of exploring this topic even as we approach 70 years aer the war's end. DAILY LIFE IN ANCIENT ROME with Penn Museum Broadcasting live from our Rome Gallery, students will learn all about artifacts that elite Romans used in their day-to-day lives. This interactive program covers mosaics, portraiture, architecture, and examines childhood toys and the educational system. You will even take a tour of a lavish Roman villa. MEET A MEDIE VAL PE A SANT with Sheffield Museum Visit with an in-character peasant in his home in medieval England. The peasant will show the students artifacts, answer their questions, and teach them a dance from the middle ages with live music. GODS OF GREECE AND ROME with Cleveland Museum of Art Learn why Herakles, Athena, and Dionysus populate the Cleveland Museum of Art galleries in sculpture, coins, vases and a sarcophagus.
